Toten Hosen - Draussen Vor Der Tur (studio version/official video & live, acoustic, in Berlin 2020)

I've already posted one amazing song from Toten Hosen's 2012 album Ballast Der Republik, an album that was #1 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and one of the bestselling albums of both 2012 and 2013 in all three countries (and the 9th-bestselling album of 2010-2019 in Germany). That song, Tage Wie Diese, is posted here: https://democraticunderground.com/103475932 . The video for that song has nearly 70 million views on YouTube, with a lot of comments from English speakers who say they don't speak German but love the song anyway.

This song, Draußen Vor Der Tür, is nearly as good, though it couldn't be more different in mood and theme. Instead of a song about celebration, about communal ecstasy, this is about lead singer Campino's troubled relationship with his father.

Official video:

Live, acoustic, in Berlin in 2020, just Campino (Andreas Frege) and Kuddel (Andreas von Holst):

Die Toten Hosen are still often described as punk rock because they started as punk rock, in the 1980s. But they went way beyond punk.
