A regimented drummer and talented bass player like this can really take a simple song to a new level.

It's got a good beat, it's easy to dance to. I'll give in an eighty five.

Since I was posting an old country tune, I channeled some of my old country self

I remember being a teen age hillbilly who loved hill music but skated to Parliament and listened to Led Zeppelin and Merle Haggard records.

the 70s were a trip cousin

Excuse the tangent but I get very "up on a soapbox" about this...

My wife is Japanese, they had cultural classes throughout their school lives - so that all Japanese people can know the rudiments of what being Japanese means.

Calligraphy, flower display, poetry, music, working a soroban (abacus) a core of skills and knowledge that everyone has and it weaves the country together. It gives them all a common cultural toolbox...

I wish this documentary, the James Brown biography, you see me laughing and hail hail rock and roll were all required viewing in elementary and middle school.

So that young Americans could see and feel the common roots of the American musical legacy. To give all of us a common cultural language that music can provide in a way the no other artistic outlet can.

Music in America is the only thing that transcends race region and class - In my opinion anyway
