If I recall correctly, he picked Chapin up at the airport, and drive him back to his apartment for the interview, which was pretty in depth about his music, and especially the lyrics. When it was over, Chapin signed an album cover, adding the phrase: Thanks for listening so carefully.

True American treasure. Too bad he didn't live to see or be a part of or, hell, LEAD the Live Aid project.
