1995 - Jerry Garcia

Jerry Garcia guitarist and singer from the Grateful Dead died from a heart attack at the Serenity Knolls rehabilitation clinic in San Francisco aged 53. Garcia co-founded the New Riders of the Purple Sage and also released several solo albums. He was well known for his distinctive guitar playing and was ranked 13th in Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest {Guitarists} of All Time"

I was so excited to take my new wife to see the Dead with me.
Her reaction when I told her he passed - "I guess that means I don't have to see them now."
That marriage didn't last.

There will never be a musician grieved like that in the USA again IMHO.

Maybe happens with Sir Paul, but I doubt it a bit. Elton & Mick will also be a tough ones.

But I'm tellin ya, the Bay Area was about absolutely inundated with mourners for like a week. It was sadly beautiful.
