BTW: he's retiring due to degenerative illness that is affecting his fine motor skills.
I did dig that HP live album, a lot.

(57,124 posts)At about the same time, actually a few years earlier, Marriott's leaving Faces left a hole that took Rod Steward and Ronny Wood to fill.
Not signifying, just saying.
I will admit, having Marriott backed by Frampton is sort of a Jordan/Pipen situation - a lot of people really don't realize Pipin was a franchise player by himself. Frampton is an interesting musician.

He was still writing his own stuff,playing primary parts on everything & it is, after all, a business.
It's not like Humble Pie wasn't trying to write hits!

(1,327 posts)I heard a live version of this song at a friends house when a young teen and it helped me realize there was a whole world of music other than the saccharine crap of top 40 radio. Yay Steve Marriott and the Pie!!
Frampton did a killer cover of Jumpin Jack Flash that I like even more than the original. Damn fine guitar player!
