Arthur McBride (and the Sergeant)

Paul Brady's long version of an old ballad that is appropriate in light of Russian press-gangs running rampant and ruining lives to support an illegal war in Ukraine.

The song is likely Irish, found in many places and might be a couple hundred years old but tells a story as old as war itself. Mr. Brady collected this long version while touring the US in the early 70's. I first heard it several years later from Planxty.

Damn near put this in GD because the story is much more than the music but being the good lad, placed it here.
