It's A Beautiful Day signature hit song "White Bird" is well known amongst rock fans of the late 1960's.
Among It's A Beautiful Day's self titled album "Bombay Calling" was the inspiration for Deep Purple's concert staple "Child In Time."
Three songs for my DU friends tonight, connected through time and a love of music.
White Bird - Live Extended Jam Version (no autotune, no pre-recorded backing tracks, just pure practice and talent)
Bombay Calling - 1969
Child In Time - Live - 1970 (that 70's audience looks like they are unaware of the greatness they are witnessing...)

(2,203 posts)I played hell out of Child in Time on my vinyl "Made in Japan" back in the day, and I loved White Bird, but never had I heard Bombay Calling. C'mon, Deep Purple totally lifted that main theme from them! And they are all awesome!
Thanks for posting this!

(5,641 posts)It's a Beautiful Day returned the favor and snagged from The Deep in their use of the theme from Deep Purples "Wring That NecK", in their song "Don and Dewey" in their second album "Marrying Maiden"... Peace, cayugafalls
