1. I was once a fan of Cat Stevens

then along came Salman Rushdie, and this happened:

Following Ayatollah Khomeini's 14 February 1989 death fatwa against author Salman Rushdie, after the publication of Rushdie's novel The Satanic Verses, Yusuf Islam (previously known as Cat Stevens), made statements endorsing the killing of Rushdie. His statements generated criticism from commentators in the West.

I've never listened to his music willfully again.

3. This is actually an Easter Hymn, one of my mother's favorites

When I suggested it to be played/sung at my mother's funeral, my relatives insisted it was a Cat Stevens song - which it is, but it's also an Easter hymn.
