This was Steve at the height of his powers, fresh outta jail ... Train a Comin and I Feel Alright through Transcendental Blues (an era which includes a bunch of stuff on Sidetracks ... pretty sure this is a 'The Mountain' outtake) ... he couldn't be beat right then ...

The anti-Bush The Revolution Starts Now was equally as good. My favorite track? Warrior.

Sewhere between Morrison and William S. Burroughs. Fucking powerful!

Little Feat did Willin' on their first LP, the self titled Little Feat, and on their 2nd LP, Sailin'Shoes.

The original version had Ry Cooder on slide. George had injured his hand and was unable to play the slide on it.

There's a fair amount of variance between the two. On the second the slide work is downplayed and the piano becomes the foremost instrument.

And the vocals on the first don't have the plaintive, soulful pitch of the second one.

I love both versions, and Steve does nail this as well.
