When I was in my first band in 1966 in Savannah, Georgia

playing guitar in 100 degree heat and near 100% humidity in the attic of my parents' house with no air conditioning (and we couldn't open the windows because the neighbors complained of the loudness) this was one of the favorite tunes the four of us played.

This was the "B" side of "Wild Thing" and I think it was a better tune than the "A" side. This tune by the Troggs has been hailed by punk rockers such as Iggy Pop and The Ramones as a very early and strong influence on the punk rock genre.

And every young guitarist in my high school (and it seemed like every other guy played electric guitar back in those days) bought the 45 of "Wild Thing" so they could try to copy the Chris Britton guitar solo from the tune on the flip side.

The original version was groovy even though the drummer forgot to bring his cymbals in that recording session which was only an hour between 2 bands. The Jimi Hendrix version made it a far out song. R.I.P Reg.
