Yamaha THR30II desktop amp. Any of you guys ever use one?

I like the idea of a practice amp that I can just grab and jet to another room without dragging along my pedal board and losing the moment. But, even though I live in the suburbs of LA right up next to Orange County, I can’t can’t seem to find a store that has one so I can try it live. The shills on YouTube love it, but I swear all those videos sound like my iPad…lol.

So…anybody actually ever play one?

Oh yeah! At no volume does it sound like a phone. The peak volume is pretty loud. Beakybird Jan 2023 #4

It does a great job emulating all of these amps. Great software and hardware.
I got the the wireless transmitter, and that's nice too.
It's pricey, but it's a lot of fun.
Good luck!

With a sound that doesn’t sound like you’re on the phone?

I've heard that the speakers are the highest fidelity of all of the bedroom amps. I think some of the other ones have better app environments though.

I agree it's a good sounding amp, and it's pretty cheap. He bought it through Sweetwater for $100.
It's only 7 watts, so it's not for full stage use, but if miked it would be neat for a jam night.

.. it has 3 power modes. !00w, 50w, and 1w.
When set in the 1 watt mode (yes, one watt) it still cranks pretty loud.

!00 watt mode is for loud outdoor gigging. I cannot believe how great the Katanas are.

I also have a range of tube amps. Small to large.

A Mesa F-60 & a Marshall. (I forget the model, but it's 50 watt 2x12 combo, with a modest built in FX unit. I used the FX at a jam night when I didn't want to bring the rack or pedals.
At home, I just use the F-60, because it's up on a credenza and has a smaller footprint.
For bass, I use a Fender Bassman 400.
My keyboard rig was a QVC 360w/channel into 2 TOA 350Z cabinets.
I played keys more than guitar when I was still active in bands, which was 30+ years.
I had an Acoustic practice amp & a Fender Twin, but I gave away the former & sold the latter.
Somewhere around here I've got a Bassman 100, too. But, I'm not even sure where I put it! LOL!
Still have my keyboards & rack, but I only use one of them to record. It's 88 key weighted so it's pretty much all I need.
In case you haven't heard them, here's a sampling of my stuff. All covers, since I'm too lazy to write.
