Local Sanitation Group at Work

We were heading out the other day, and we spotted a dead deer up on the grass. It was surrounded by this group of Black Vultures who were busy reducing it to a pile of bones!

They were concerned enough about me watching them, that they stopped eating to look at me. As soon as Andy drove away, they resumed feeding.

the vultures return to roost on my roof and chimneys every year about April 3. This year they were one day late.

Beautiful in the air. We have a pair that soar lazy circles in the sky above the house all day long.

deer carcasses that result from car/deer interface. They can pay some guys to pick up the corpse and get it to the landfill or just do nothing and have it disappear in about 3 days.

We have a healthy flock of vultures . . .

Plus, it supports the local wildlife (the ones that survive, anyway.)
