I started putting out a birdseed buffet on the retaining wall in my garden last winter--when snow was covering the ground -- for doves. Through the spring I kept doing it. Sometimes there would be as many as 7 or 8 at a time. Usually in pairs, but occasionally one by itself. No mate or lost its mate? Then a squirrel discovered the buffet. And brought a buddy. Stopped putting the seed out on the retaining wall, and this morning that damn squirrel had climbed the pole supporting the hanging feeders.
Yesterday I had a baby bunny.
