I have a much better resolution photo, and I can't figure out how to share it here.

3. It's not necessary to post higher resolution images for DU

for a number of reasons. A 1080p monitor will only resolve about 1 megapixel. Larger files are a burden on the slower connections. That's why contest pictures are limited to 1024 pxls on the long side.

You can upload larger files but the viewer will have to download the original and view it in some other media to get the benefit.

Check the post again, I edited it and used smugmug (free trial) which is so much nicer but probably not something I could afford to pay for. No clue how many pixels the second photo is.

Smugmug is a great hosting site and I have my photos there: andyshanks.smugmug.com

However there are free pages for photo hosting that lend themselves to places like DU. I use imgur.com. No cost and no limit on photos. Move the picture there, copy the image address and paste that in your post. You basically upload a full rez image and can edit it for size before copying the address link.

I only talk about Imgur because it's the one I'm familiar with, there are others. If you decide to use it PM me and I'll walk you through the resize and link copy procedure.
