(149,629 posts)Actually, those aren't hot peppers; they're green bell peppers. Not hot at all.
There were some hot peppers, but they refused to focus, so I left them out of this thread.
I guess I just didn't get close enough! I thought the green bell pepper was interesting enough to post, even though it wasn't focused either.

(9,813 posts)Sweet peppers are relatively hard to find in Central CA. Someone with or near to Sams Italian Deli in Fresno brings them in this time of year. I grew some in flower planters a few years ago. Had to bring them into the shop at night so that the critters wouldnt eat them. Country Living!
Two other neighbors and I have had containers and bird feeders damaged, and the only consistent explanation is a bear. I did see one right after I moved here. So we are on alert. At night, anyway.
If anyone near the (relatively chilly!) coast needs a part time gardener/handyman/computer fixer/formerly good cook/photographer/not-so-good pianist, I am ready to downsize a bit. The hot spell seems to have no end.
More to the point, I wonder why the camera didnt focus. Have you tried manual focus when this happens? You can check by setting a manual focus position and moving the camera back and forth. Old manual focus trick from when autofocus didnt exist. Aim for perfection!

(149,629 posts)It sets everything; all I have to do is get close enough to hear and see the lens focus. I guess I wasn't close enough. Sometimes it's a bit squirrelly.
I always aim for perfect, but I don't always catch it!
Thanks for your great suggestions.

(149,629 posts)I have learned to bring home only what I need. Too many times stuff ends up in the compost and although that's a good outcome, it's not why I bought it!
It's a great place, though!
Good morning to you!
