(149,625 posts)It's Cheeseburger Pie: basically beef with a variety of additions (tomato sauce, oregano, diced onion) and like that.
The topping is a stirred-together mixture of milk, egg, and shredded cheddar cheese with worchestershire sauce and ground mustard.
Truly yummy!
Thanks for your inquisitive comments!

The other night we had beef stew, which was also super!
I love comfort food.
Thanks for your lovely remarks!

(46,051 posts)I can do pretty good pie crust. Do you have a recipe for making the pie?
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,625 posts)The pie crust is perfect because I didn't make it! I am terrible at making them, so I buy them frozen in my supermarket! They work so well, taste good and reduce the time needed to actually put the pie together!
I do have the recipe for this pie, but not in this computer. I hope you can wait till tomorrow when I will be downstairs in my kitchen where I will retrieve it.
I will post it in this thread.

(46,051 posts)And pie crust isn't impossible after you've made it several times. My secret is that recipes never let you add enough water.

(10,658 posts)that looks absolutely delicious! I would like the recipe.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,625 posts)1 pound ground beef
½ teaspoon ground oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
½ cup dry bread crumbs
1 can (8 ozs.) Tomato sauce
1/4 cup chopped onion (I use dry onion flakes)
Cheese Topping
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
½ teaspoon each dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (I buy the already shredded cheese.)
Cook and stir ground beef in skillet till brown. Drain fat. Stir in oregano, crumbs, tomato sauce, and the onion and the ground pepper.
Pour into the already prepared pie crust shell. If youre using a commercially made shell in an aluminum pan, be sure to place the empty shell on a baking sheet first! The aluminum is a little bit flimsy when filled. And the cookie sheet can catch any possible spills during baking. I just feel a bit safer using this combo.
Bake about 30 minutes.
