(32,539 posts)And Ill bet it smells gorgeous, too! One of my favorite flower scents.
We had to cover ours for the night due to a freeze warning. The buds on ours are still teeny tiny.

(3,883 posts)but yesterday I could smell it as soon as I opened the back door! I think last week's highs in the 80s did the trick.
There was a frost warning for this area last night but none formed here. I'm in hardiness zone 6 and our average last frost date is April 21-30. To play it safe I usually don't take my houseplants outdoors until the week after Mother's Day.

(32,539 posts)Your plant must be an early bloomer or youre farther South of me. I look forward to those beautiful sweet scented blooms every year. They were my Grandmothers favorite so they remind me of her. And it seems every April (even a few times in May) we have to sweat out an occasional frost/freeze.
My Crabapple tree is always abloom for Mothers Day but strangely, its blooming right now - seems oddly early this year for some reason.

(709 posts)that my mother used to hide in when she was a kid. When I was about ten, she showed me the branch in the back that you had to lift up to crawl under to reach the little "cave" there. It was so wonderful, cool and fragrant, a perfect hideaway.

(709 posts)Granny always looked right at that bush when she stepped out the back door to call me. 😉
Appreciate your posts, whether I comment or not. You have become one of my favorites. You seem rather chill (as my grands say)!

(3,115 posts)and this is just beautiful! Wonderful photography, too. Wish I could do even a little as good as this is! This bush reminds me of the one we had in the backyard of my childhood home. It was older and much larger, tho... so large that I'd sit for hours inside it, surrounding myself with the scent. Thanks for the good memory!

The light is also perfect!
