Cheers!

(9,242 posts)Tomatoes. I hate the texture of avocados.
Between the photos? Both are nice, but I prefer the first one.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,844 posts)I rather prefer the first one too. I like the darker shades around and in the bowl.
Thanks for your comments, my dear rsdsharp!

(3,436 posts)When I was a kid, my dad called that variety Genovese I think. They have great flavor. I like avocado sliced on toast with tomato, lettuce & mayo.
What recipe do you have in store for your photo subjects?
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,844 posts)I think you have the right idea on how to consume these subjects!
I usually use them in salads. Lettuce, tomato, avocado, and beets . . . and sometimes ham!

(4,231 posts)I like #1 but the second one highlights the redness and features of that tomato, which is the star of the show. Great pictures, Peggy.

I had not thought of the heirloom tomato that way!

(4,483 posts)Cezanne had a hand in the creation of the first one. The black background is stunning, and I especially like the fact that the subject is not centered in the frame.
I know that saying a photo looks like a painting is not necessarily a compliment, but in this case, I think the first photo is art, the second one a lovely photograph.

(149,844 posts)I noticed the off-center aspect, and I considered "fixing" it. And then I thought "no" and left it. I like the asymmetry.
I've seen some photos that look like paintings, and almost without exception, I really enjoy them. As far as I'm concerned, what you said is a compliment.
Thanks again!

Thanks for your incisive remarks!

(14,901 posts)The tomatoes and avocados look so inviting!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,844 posts)Really appreciate your lovely remarks.
When I use my light box, which I did this time, it means there's more effort to get the photo just the way I want it. I'm making a photo instead of taking it.
It is fun, and it's also more work.
I'm looking forward to eating the produce!

(32,214 posts)The composition especially.
To answer your question, I think I prefer the darker background. It makes the colors more vivid.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,844 posts)Composition is key.
I agree about the darker background.
