Related: About this forumIs there a burning desire in anyone for a theme for the March contest?
I'm a bit pre-occupied for another day or so - and until I get the ball rolling if you have a theme you have been excited about let me know and I will consider it.
I'm not planning a poll, unless the things that come up warrant it, I have one thing in mind, maybe two, but I'm flexible and impressionable.
Looking forward to doing the next contest with you - it's been a good while and I wonder if I still remember how.
We'll find out together.

I'm leaning toward something that is a little more abstract in concept, for some reason the thought of 30 (we hope it's 30) photos of tulips and daffodils breaking through is not exciting me off the bat.
I'm probably wearing blinders to our diversity of interpretation right this minute, and if I chose that one I would maybe invite people to think beyond blossoms.

(22,380 posts)"In what respect, Alfredo?" I googled the concept but could not find what it means exactly. I'm serious about not understanding it, but I want to.
About the idea of "waking up after winter" I really think that there is so much deep winter still in much of the land, many won't be able to find the signs. Plus, in the Seasonals, Spring is next.

That one has your name all over it.

(60,074 posts)designated it as the state's official botanical garden. More funding with that designation. Yahoo! My brother in law is a master gardener there, so when you see the flowers you may see his touch.
Thanks. Even though it isn't as easy, I still like to get down an look at the world at a kid's level. Actually the getting down part is the easy part.

(22,380 posts)I liked the idea of "I see music" so much that I'm stuck at the moment in wanting to do something that lets our imaginations roam.
And then I lift up my eyes and see the daffodils I picked on the table, and want to grab a black backdrop and take their picture.

we were just there around the turn of the year
It's an amazing concept, it would make me worry if there are 30 folks to brave it. I will put it in my mind's hopper.

(14,910 posts)Not sure how many people that would limit, however it may encourage others who wouldn't normally enter, too...
Just a thought.
The ideas are just pouring in. And I feel I'm not responding with enough enthusiasm! I DO NOT know how to even get a photo off my phone onto the computer. Forget how to take a picture with it have only done it twice.
So, again, even though many who would not normally enter might, some regulars might not.
Maybe making it clear that photos taken by phone are perfectly acceptable?

(8,209 posts)But I have seen some great shots from them. They are basically a camera, I would not put them in a separate category,
maybe a pinhole camera would be unique, but I don't think many of us could go there.....

(18,635 posts)I figured it would help those who didn't want to venture outside yet, and it can cover anything from window reflections and refractions to colorful glass. Then there's crystal...
Could see some macros.
