"Honey They Sent Me the WRONG NECK STRAP! I mean, it seems to work, but still it's the principle of it . . .

But seriously folks. Pictured is the mother of invention concept at work.

Several days ago I ordered a new neck strap online. Laurie and I were given tickets for last night's Minor League ball game. Most fortunately the late-arriving strap was not missed. I received a new monopod which came early. Took that along in case of foul flies.

Monopod worked fine. Had a blast at the game. Got home, downloaded images and went to bed. (BTW the hometown Spokane Indians were walloped.)

Now to the truth of the matter. Or, as Paul Harvey would say, "the rest of the story".

I decided to fashion my own strap. Bailing twine and Gorilla Tape. A bit crude but sufficient and free.

After the game we purchased a Spokane Indians rain jacket. Liked it so much it almost went to bed with me — but an older guy's little kid's enthusiasm only goes so far I guess. The jacket proudly took its place on the coat tree by the front door.

Does this make you a "fashion" photographer? Or, just a fashionable one?

Not to treat your cool compliment lightly. Growing up "fashion" was what you saw on TV and could not afford. Thank You nevertheless!

Well done. I'll spare you my list of OTW (1) improvisations. They're for an upcoming book or movie.

(1) Out Of This World.

I'll bet you didn't know that fishing lures can hold up a curtain rod.

And I'll explain how to make a monopod from that cane.

Enjoy!
