in a galaxy far far away. actuall 2 galaxies

this is M81 and M82,Bode's galaxy and the cigar galaxy.

Taken with my little seestar s50 scope. 18 hours worth of exposure time in my backyard. The 2 galaxies are actually about 12 million light years away

…and fine wispy details speak to a meticulous setup - or multiple setups since many sessions were surely necessary. Much effort, beautiful result!

I always enjoy hopping out to this pair, and often wonder what one galaxy would look like to residents of the other.
