Related: About this forumFriday - Horses and Around The Farm - Pete and Barn Building.
Pete was born to our mare Misty. A Paint baby boy.

He got to be friends with our puppydog Chewy.

This was while Star Wars was out and Chewy was short for Chewbacca.

Pete was a cute colt.

His very first showing was a success. He didn't panic and showed well.

In these nest two pictures he was around one year old.
Here he was out grazing with one of our older horses.

He had grown into a good looking youngster.

We'll catch back up with Pete, Pt. 2, next week.
Around The Farm ~
Way back when, this is how the barn began.

We took a walk around and inside today. It's coming together.

Our "grand-dog" Pepper's here. She was scoping things out.

As usual, Shadow was in charge.

Laurie worked on walls,

but took a break for a photo opportunity.

Meanwhile, Maddie and Pete took things in stride. Lazy like.

Here's where we are today.

(76,686 posts)then down the alley, and she would push the gate open and play with the dogs. The dogs owner*
and I would drink wine and laugh as the dogs would beat each other up. A Episcopal Priest told me
that at a farm he lived on in Indiana when his 2 sons were younger had a big male boxer and if either
boy got more than 100 from the house would chomp down on their shirts and drag them closer to
the house.
*. Btw I miss my gay neighbor with his boxers. A nice new good looking couple now lives in that
house and I wish he and the dogs would come back.

(11,168 posts)If I'd been on that Indiana farm, 100' would've be the absolute limit.
And, if only we could pick and choose our neighbors, life might be different.
Thank You for your reply!

. and they had a sign up that said something like warning guard dogs on duty and I was talking
to his mother and one day some salesman drove up their long driveway and got out of his car
and one of the dogs put one of his wrists in his mouth and the other Great Dane took a hold of
his other wrist and then the dogs walked the guy up to the front door where his mother asked the
man if saw the sign about not getting out of his car? She pointed to the mans car and the dogs
walked him back to his car and dropped the mans wrists from their mouths when they got to his
car. However if the dogs knew you were a friend or a guest on the property they just loved to be your
buddy. They liked to sleep next to or on top of you and play with you too. Is that a Blue Healer dog
too?
Dogs are the best people.

(12,548 posts)Pete is really a good looking horse. My favorite, of course, is Shadow on top of the hay bales with her jolly ball.

Barn progress is phenomenal. Im always in awe of people who can build things.
Laurie is always impressive in all her skills, as well!
