Related: About this forumMonday's KCChronicles and ShadowTales - Been a good late winter for the dynamic duo.
KC and Shadow communicate well without words.

Often you can tell from their eyes. For instance, Shadow's wavelength to KC "Nope. The bed's mine for now. You're too late." And KC looks on stoically.
His time will come.

One day late afternoon sunlight found him at ease.

Mommy has a plant-thingy on the kitchen floor. KC likes to chew on it.

As I was washing dishes today KC jumped up on the counter. Shadow may
have taken exception.

She retired to the floor, still keeping a wary eye out.

I have never seen him on the kitchen counter. He surprised me so much that
I had to go get the camera, while neglecting the running faucet.

Snapping shots, I started to realize why he was up there. Checked his
and Shadow's water bowl. Less than half a fingernail's worth of water.
Big guy was thirsty.

BUT HE KNEW where to find water. (Toilet lid's down just in case.)

His thirst quenched KC moved on. Shadow tracked him. I shut off the faucet
and filled the water bowl.

They then stared at one another, like playing chess, waiting for someone
to make the next move.

KC has more sleep positions than any sleep number mattress around.
Here are four.

KC says "nite nite".

You may recall, Shadow Loves Wintertime.

A shaggy coat keeps her comfy.

She had a surprise visitor. Eight months ago Shadow met a delivery driver.
They became fast friends. When another package arrived recently, Shadow recognized the van. She ran to greet the driver, whose name is Jenn.
Please note the three treats in Jenn's left hand. Milk Bones are standard
operating procedure during package delivery.

As Shadow shuffles, snuggles into bed, we wish you all a good night
and good bye for now.

(P.S. ~ Should you wonder why Shadow has but seven pictures of her own,
it's because she had a big day yesterday with Pepper. It was only fair for KC
to dominate this posting. He thought so.)

(11,709 posts)It turned out that Jenn had lost a puppy quite recently to a sudden death. She was grieving. It was as if Shadow came into her life to mitigate the mourning. Since, always with deliveries Shadow gets three biscuits, sometimes four. And yes, Jenn does know where to scratch.
Thanks Biophilic!
