Friday Horses - Pete and Maddie and looking back at two old retirees from our former farm. + 'Round The Farm.

Pete and Maddie are doing good. They'll be glad for spring. And to get into their barn ~ soon.

Years ago, back at the old farm, we decided to board retired horses.
It worked out well.
R.T. (for Royal Tardez), a pure bred Arab was our first boarder.

Charlie Brown was our second boarder. A thoroughbred, he was Mr. Mellow.
Charlie was gentle with his owner's little boys.

With his Dad, we called this photo "Mind Meld".

R.T. and Charlie Brown lived long and happy lives. We'll never forget them.

Around The Farm ~
Laurie recently delivered wood scraps from building the barn to our
neighbors, for their next bonfire.

She ordered a load of gravel the other day.

It was pretty exciting.

She replenished her pile with 5/8ths minus gravel.

I invested part of an afternoon pulling nails. Not fun but necessary.

Our Granddog Pepper stayed over while her Mom was away on "vacay".

She and Shadow played Jolly Ball.

When Pepper left Shadow had HER Jolly Ball back.

Laurie climbed to her front barn light and programmed it to operate
from her phone.

And she moved more dirt today, filling in yet another low spot.

Guess who supervised . . . and from a safe, dry distance.

Thanks again for stopping by! We'll see you 'round the farm.

... where R.T. and Charlie had all four feet momentarily off the ground. Ya gotta be quick with the shutter to catch that!

Does Pepper have a favorite toy of her own? Or is she content with sharing the Jolly Ball with Shadow?

My boys would have been all over watching that dump truck when they were little. They loved trucks.

Laurie climbed that ladder??? Holy cow!!

Yeah, that dump truck was neat to see.

Yes, she did climb it. It's a sturdy ladder, she had it well anchored in the dirt.

I'm glad you like our horsie pics. Horses were a big part of the old farm. At most, at one time, we had eleven horses in the barn: eight boarders and Laurie's three mares. It's much better here and now with Pete and Maddie only.

Thanks Diamond_Dog!
