(4,271 posts)We visited Caddo Lake last year and spent some time in Uncertain, Texas, took a boat tour of the lake, and learned how it was formed. Such an unusual history.

I went for a walk at a local seaside park and took this from 10 feet away. He seemed unperturbed by the local pedestrian traffic. Yesterday I got my first picture of an alligator at another local park but the alligator was almost totally obscured by a combination of greater distance and the natural camouflage of rippling reflections of vegetation surrounding the stream.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
