new/old camera question

My camera has just about totaly expired. The one I got from eBay has problems, that showed up too late to be returned...But...my nephew i giving me his camera. It's more than he wants or needs.

It's a Fujifilm Finepix S6000fd . Anyone have any suggetions, tips or whatever on this?

Here is a review of it:

My previous beloved camera was a Casio 10 megapixels XLM EX S10. I loved the simplicity of that camera, and it took really nice photos too.

This one will take some learning.

and get to know more about your camera and your likes and dislikes. Then look for deals.

The flesh tones are very true, and IQ is nice. That image expanded even showed dandruff in her eyebrows. Lesser cameras would puke over hair, that camera did a good job on her hair.

I like KISS...but it's nice to have some control. It's true the tiny cameras have their limitations, I might invest in a telephoto lens. It would be nice to get some shots of flying birds.
