It is a website that helps you sell prints. It is free and there is no commission. Where they seem to make their money is providing your print matted, framed, etc.. They kind of take that headache away.
Thoughts?

(20,886 posts)Is the shear number of artists. It appears as if this site has/allows a number of venues for sales, which puts it above others. For free, I'd say give it a try for a while.

(4,483 posts)Let's face facts, with hundreds of thousands of artists on the site you don't want to move people to your page only to have them wander around the site to other artists, the 30 bucks buys a branded page and keeps your buyer focused. The 30 bucks also buys your images a presence on Amazon which isn't a guarantee but is a nice bonus that might pay off.
Another fact, with that many people signed up you can bet that a lot of people aren't making any money from it but the people that treat it like a business are going to see a return. One thing I found interesting is that they have a way to link to your press. I also think you still have market yourself with brick and mortar shows even if you have to use alternative art spaces to get the work in front of people and those people can be directed to your online presence including Facebook, twitter and it doesn't hurt to have a compelling blog.
The site is good for someone who doesn't want to deal with the production end of the business considering they have a variety of paper options also canvas, acrylic and metal options, my only issue is that I would check for production consistency by ordering a print and then waiting a week or so and order the same print and see how they compare.

(9,000 posts)I really didn't want to deal with the production end and right now I can't see any downside to using them. Having said that I know the promotion is up to me ( I have owned a business I started for 12 years now) and I already have interested buyers. What is nice is that I can do my own shows/promotions and have my displays put together by them. I can mark them up as I want.
It is all about marketing and promotion.
