I've just received the 30th entry therefore submissions are closed. Thanks everyone for submitting your entries, this is a great group of photos.
The theme is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (and Bikes and Boats). You can submit any photo relating to that theme. Submissions will be accepted through August 17th, or until there are 30 entries.
Entries can be seen here
Discussion thread is here
Complete rules can be seen at http://www.democraticunderground.com/103614595
CONTEST LICENSE:
An entrant to this contest, by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia or to a linked Gallery and included in a DU Calendar that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests and/or commemorating current and past contests. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.

(18,628 posts)Great theme again this month. I'm looking forward to a full slate of entries.
This is a month where transportation is a key part of our daily lives, so c'mon people, if you see something don't tell someone... take a picture and share!
Today I'm headed up north to the Lake Tavern for a Jeep show.
On edit: If someone has an interesting photo on hand and doesn't know how to submit an entry, Groundloop or anyone else in the Photography Group will be glad to offer guidance.

(18,628 posts)Thanks for pointing out that Facebook is a great site for linking entries, but I'm afraid many may shy away because they think they have to possess a photoshop degree to comply with the 800mp requirement.
A handy "one click" tool I use is a free Microsoft Power Toy called "Image Resizer". It's available for XP, Vista, and (I believe) even Windows8. It allows for a user to right click on their picture and select from a choice of several popular sizes, including the 800mp required for DU photo contests:

Image Resizer saves the original photo and simply creates a new one with an appended file name (small, medium, or large).

I'll move up the preliminary voting by a few days since the 30 spots filled up early, I'm going to shoot to have the preliminaries posted by this Friday.
