Were you on Ocracoke last week? I took a day trip down on Thursday (10/03). I live in Manteo (so I'm not far) but don't get down to Ocracoke as often as I'd like to. I will be back down for Christmas week though - I can't wait!

6. we are still here - we always do the first two weeks of Oct.

stay in the cottage across the street from the lighthouse. Even the rain of the past few days were AOK - 10 straight perfect days to start our trip!

7. I love a rainy day or two while on vacation.

This December we'll be staying in a house on Silver Lake. We've stayed all over the island but never right on the lake.

8. we will! I think I know the house you mean...

in our 20 years coming here, we've stayed in many houses - but we like to take our two choc. labs, so that now limits us. The kayaking last week was remarkable - one day off springer point we found ourselves amongst a pod of feeding dolphins....just magical!

We spent one Christmas here, and quite a few Thanksgivings. Nice to have a 70% or so Dem dot in this red area as well! The tuna, scallops and shrimp have been amazing this week also....doing lots of cooking!
