I was trying to take some shots of the moon last night--clouds started moving in--and ended up
with a completely out of focus shot that, weirdly, I find appealing because of the sense of movement
to it. (And yes, I tried to post these this morning and ran into my problem with photobucket, which,
even more oddly, is now working.)

The second one disturbs me. It is rather abstract.

(1,771 posts)Can't remember the photographer's name; but many years ago he hid his camera at an Electrocution/Execution. By today's anal standards it was a horrible photo but it remains an important part of photography history. He caught an image of the person doing what people do when lots of heavy electricity is pumped through their body. It was waaaay out of focus - badly blurred but it 'fit' the image. It worked. The photo was used on the front page of a newspaper with the headline: "DEAD".
There is also (I'd have to find it) a photographer that creates beautiful images by doing handheld pinhole photos. Typically you can't handhold a pinhole photo because it blurs too much.
If you like the effect then that's all that matters. Play with it some more.

I've never had that reaction previously to an out of focus shot.
