I took my least favorite lens for a walk today. I guess it is my least favorite

because it is of unknown heritage. That shouldn't matter because it seems to return good results. I have to bump up the contrast a bit when needed, but that's no big thing. It is a Focal 28mm 2.8 M42 lens adapted to my Olympus.

for my mirrorless. All I have at the moment is a 50mm Minolta, which is too long for most of the stuff I do.

On reason I don't use mine much is that I have the Sigma 30mm 2.8. That's my everyday lens.

I love my two 50's, the Yashinon DX and Industar 50-2. I have a reverse ring for my Yashinon.

so I don't have to buy another mount.

However, after seeing your post this morning, I did a search for wider angle lenses on that eBay thingie and I found none in the price range I want to spend (super cheap).

I straightened the ring and now it accepts filters. I payed $20.

You have to be patient, and willing to go beyond the first page.

M42 mount lenses are the most common, so they are cheaper. Adapters are cheap too.

It was one case where full format would have made a real difference. If I win the lottery tonight I will get myself a full format with the 600 lens to go with it.

I can dream.

And I really did not want to take hubby's camera. It is heavy, but, I cannot reach the controls either.

Anyway this is why. The two zoom in from my body were not as clear as they should.

We were joking that if we hit the lottery we could even afford the tv grade video camera, alas I don't have the back for that. Not joking, Nikon 800E. Yes,I went drooling.

I mean, it's already experiencing a 'self-worth' issue because of your comments. Lunch only seems fair.

Normally I have a 'thing' for the sky in my landscapers, but I really like the treatment you used on these. Makes me re-think the whole sky thing.

rather flat so it didn't add much to the image. I was using hyper focal so I was focusing on the two thirds point. That took a lot of the sky out of the frame.

BTW, the yellow filter was used for all conversions.

My mind went to a messy, almost impossible to clean, lunch. An in and out double cheese burger protein style. Trust me, messy does not start to describe it.
