Related: About this forumPlease add your photo blog, photo website or Facebook page, Flickr page, whatever HERE
I just started a photography blog, just for fun, and I thought it would be a good idea to collect everyone's non-DU photo collections, blogs, pages, or whatever links here in this thread. After I get all the links (I will try to keep this kicked for about three weeks or so) I will combine them into one post with the DU names and the links, and ask the host to pin it to the top of the page here.
I also thought when we start having the photo contests here we could link that pinned post to the entry post, so that people in GD could look at our pages if they desired.
Since I just started my photography blog, I will start. It is here
http://fotofilings.blogspot.com/
Honestly this will help me a lot, because I love looking at everyone's blogs and pages, and it would be really convenient to have them all linked here and the post pinned.
Thanks. Oh, yes I did ask Mira about this and she heartily approved, and I mean to get CC's approval as soon as she gets back from out of town.
Oh, and if you don't have such a place for a link, let this inspire you to do so soon. We could change the post that is pinned when there are changes that need to be made to it.

(90,773 posts)I'll think about starting one.

(15,812 posts)I also have a flickr page, but talk about a mess!! If I could start from scratch, I could make it good, probably. Mainly I have been using it for photo storage.
I may want to get something like a SmugMug page at some point.

(90,773 posts)Starting from scratch would help me organize better as well. (Maybe) lol
I have a mess at photobucket. I've been mainly using external drives for most of my photos. I'm trying to get them in some kind of order. I could start a blog-thingie once I finish. (if I ever finish)
Mira
(22,380 posts)CC or I will pin it to the top.
Congrats on a great idea.
Celebration
(15,812 posts)Do you have a page Mira? My blog only has three photos on it now. I decided I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, WAY OUT, and try a touch of writing. I have only the vagueist idea where I am going with it. We'll see.
If people don't want their screen name associated with the page, for privacy reasons, you can PM me, and we could put your page on the post, sans the screen name.
We probably need at least seven or eight sites to make this worthwhile.

Now that I have read the thread nice to know we are on the same wave length. I do like having the ability to pin threads with out having to harass the admins. When polling is back it will keep it so much easier to keep the contest threads easy to find.

(15,812 posts)I'm so impressed with people that do wedding photos.
Do people order photos from your site?

(15,812 posts)Always have.
I am uploading photos to Smugmug now. Finally it seems easy........just VERY time consuming at this point. I'll link the Smugmug site to the blog and visa versa. I think I am doing this to give myself a little more motivation about photography.
I think I will get the intermediate account, so I can upload videos. I have tons of different kinds of videos.

Here are the photography websites for Democratic Underground Photography Group participants, and any member of Democratic Underground that would like their photography website in the pinned thread at the top of the photography group.
If any member of Democratic Underground would like their photography website included on this list, please send me an IM.

Be sure to peruse the websites, blogs, etc. of our talented group members. I am sure that they would enjoy your feedback as well.
CC
(8,039 posts)Ask regnaD kciN if he stills has and wants his site linked. His seems to be missing.
I'm thinking about a pinned thread for people asking about cameras with review sites and the advice we each seems to give. Something to think about anyway.
Celebration
(15,812 posts)There may be some other things we could link, such as online photo editing sites. I'm only volunteering for this one, though, LOL.
Also, I have PM'ed several people that have posted here recently, including regnaD kciN. I have heard from only one so far, and that person doesn't have a photo website. I'll just give it a few days.

I'll pin and lock another thread within 24 hours, and change it as needed, as people add their photo sites.

(1,895 posts)Is this what you mean?
http://community.webshots.com/user/semptress I actually don't want to be in any contests. Mostly because of the requirement to host the next one.
I love looking at others photos and being able to ask questions about them. We have some very talented people here.
Celebration
(15,812 posts)I hear what you are saying about hosting the contests!
We can't have contests now anyway without polls. So if I get this thing together I will post the link to GD and maybe some people here can kick and recommend.

(15,812 posts)I ended up just linking my blog to my photo site, so I will just have one site listed. Is there any way that you could do that? Here is mine.
Here is what I mean
http://www.fotofiler.smugmug.com/
I think it is really helpful to link the two, for lots of reasons.
I decided to link my photo site from the proposed pinned thread, and my photo page links to the blog.
I could list each separately for you, but that looks a bit messier. I think you'll find you like it better if you link the two together. Until you get a new blog post up, I wll use your photo site.
