I love fog - nice photo of it hanging in the valley.
Glass insulators aren't junk. How old are those?

(20,886 posts)Having found these at a local garage sale, I now know more than I ever wanted to know about glass insulators. The one on the right is very common. Best guess on a date is 1926 to 1960. The other one is not so common. It has no markings other than the star, and all I can say for certain is it predates the earliest date of the other one. When I chose them, out of an entire wall full of insulators, I was going for color. If I had more money with me, I would have bought more.
There was also a collection of swords and knives that I kept eyeing. The swords were all reproductions and a bit pricey, so I passed on them. Although I did like the civil war cavalry sword, reproduction or not.
I'll take another photo of the insulators with the sun coming through. That photo was take at 6:00 AM?

(9,314 posts)utilitarian as glass insulators are really quite beautiful and collectible. I've never seen one with just the star on it - and I'm not sorry I asked. Even though I'm not a big collector of anything outside of electronic cords and cables, I appreciate why people collect these things.
I'd love to see a photo with the sun coming through them.
