My new camera .....

Recently my little Nikon L22 bit the dust. My bank account demands that I replace it with one similar in price. I searched and searched looking for a 'pocket' camera for those times that I couldn't carry much and I wanted something higher than 10MP, AND one that uses AA batteries. Well I decided on a Nikon L620 which is scheduled to arrive today. This new camera is, IMHO, a step up for me.

I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with this particular camera. I am a super novice photographer who's very interested in nature shots. Now that I'm no longer working (recently granted disability) there is more time I can devote to my hobby. I'd love any input regarding this camera. Thank you in advance.

download the manual. You may have a reading preference for PDF vs paper, but it does make searching a lot easier.

I got my camera yesterday and must say that being a super novice I must admit that I really do need to study the manual. So much to learn but I have time on my side since going on disability. I want to learn as much as I can about all the (manual) settings. I think I'll print up various pages of the manual so I can reference them without taking the manual with me at all times.
