Edit: It isn't actually a farmhouse and outbuildings, though it makes a good stand-in for one at night. It's actually an old military building, part of the old coastal defense infrastructure around SF Bay. It has been re-purposed as an art center (I think). Looks much friendlier in daylight.
It's right next to the old Nike missile facility out on the Marin Headlands, on the northern side of the Golden Gate. It's a very photogenic area, and there is actually a fair amount to do and see out there. It is part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It seems kind of desolate at night but there was occasional traffic heading out toward old Fort Cronkhite and the Marine Mammal Center.
If you have Google Earth the coordinates are: 37° 49' 36.14" N 122° 31' 35.28" W
Cut-n-Paste those in to the search box and it should take you right there. You can see how much is actually around there, and how different it looks in daytime.
I was out experimenting with long exposures on an old Canon PowerShot 200IS.
