Got a new Samsung Infuse smart phone.

I'm impressed with the camera. It has just a bit over 3 mp (wife's
Galaxy has 8) which is good for 8x10 easy. The zoom feature doesn't affect pixel count so although it's clearly an electronic zoom it acts like an optical device. Not much control, in fact none at all, but results are remarkable. The "flash" is a super bright LED which doubles as a pretty good flashlight. Took this before I figured out pre-focus.

What cha' think?

Would be better if I had known how to pre-focus and then compose. flamin lib Apr 2012 #2

I know my phone has some software controls for creating and controlling special effects and such, but I'm pretty much point and shoot and hope for the best. The capability of smart phones is pretty amazing today: phone/PIM/web browser/GPS/maps/flashlight/camera/level/scanner/social media...a real "swiss army knife" of electronics technology. I remember my 1st digital camera, a Panasonic, that had a 1.3MB pixel CCD and 3.5" disk for storage. It didn't take pictures with this kind of clarity, though.

The phone focused on the center so the foliage in the background is the focal point.

It's also a bear to keep the lens clean and camera motion is an issue.
