Spring Fed
Photograph by Ryan Nelson, National Geographic Your Shot
The winter season is when some manatees find sanctuary from the chilly Gulf of Mexico by migrating to the freshwater springs of Kings Bay in Crystal River, Florida, writes Ryan Nelson, a member of our Your Shot community. [A] colder than normal morning created a good opportunity to observe these peaceful giants seeking refuge. The ambient light was perfect for catching the rays of sunlight ... [and] the fallen palm stump, natural lighting, and two animals feeding set the perfect stage.

Wish I was in that area now - Winter really hit after I returned home.
Next year.........
Sorry to know your eyes are giving you problems.
You're right - as was your brother Bobby- to pursue every avenue to take good care of ourselves.
I've got a good story, when I can transpose it from another site. - difficult at the moment as my PC is acting up.
Not sure of the weather is causing the problem, or elsewhere in the internet system.
(I'm seeing other complaints re access on some other sites.)

(17,005 posts)I wanted to share this one with all of you, and thank you for the welcome back!
I'm back but I'm having problems with my eyes,
especially the left one. I have Acute dacryocystitis and that explains why the left eye cataract surgery was painful last year. I have been fighting infections throughout this past year.
Of course, crying hasn't help but we all know the circumstances from that. I have started doing what my brother wanted me to do, take better care of myself and never give up. I have appointment March 24, for eye irrigation to see if there's a blockage. But in the meantime, I do my treatments and post when my eyes allow me.
My e-mail buddy sent me the irish joke this morning and it made me laugh.
I posted it in Humor to share the laughter with my dear friends along with this beautiful photo.
