One from our Fairbanks trip

We had a great trip to Fairbanks. The weather was beautiful and much warmer than it was a couple of weeks ago, in the 0-20 range, which is quite comfortable. We saw the winner of the Yukon Quest, Brent Sass, arrive at the finish line, amazing auroras (which I took shots of from town since I wasn't feeling too well that night), Chena Hot Springs, a bunch of stuff, but here's a shot from the train near Denali National Park. I'll post some more later after I've had a chance to sort through all of these.

and here in this photo near the Park the ground was covered, but Anchorage had record warmth while we were gone (some places almost 50), and we have barely any snow on the ground here. The Palmer Hay Flats are bare. Snow conditions were good between Whitehorse and Fairbanks for the Quest, but you probably read, though, that they are running the Iditarod from Fairbanks to Nome this year, for only the second time ever, because the trail down here in Southcentral is even worse than last year.

With Fur Rondy starting here in Anchorage next week, they may have to cancel the sprint races which I kind of remember happening once before. It's just been a very, very weird winter for us. We've got rain predicted over the weekend.
