I am in tears. Great photographer and all-around good guy. He appreciated my brand of humor and I appreciated him for "getting" me.

A great loss, and appropriate that the post is in the Lounge, as JeffR was filled with humor until the end, and was as so many of us know the great provider of the DUzy Awards during most of it's history.

7. Also a dear friend to me.

I consider him, ConsAreLiars and FGordon to be my mentors in photography, back when I didn't know an F Stop from an ISO. FGordon got banned, as did Cons, who then passed away a couple of years ago, and now Jeff. I miss them all (although I do see FG on Facebook occasionally).

Jeff was also an accomplished musician. I have a CD of some of his original music that he sent me several years ago.

A true Renaissance man.

10. I am pretty inconsolable.

A huge loss. Even though he no longer participated here he was a lasting and powerful presence and memory. JeffR encouraged us and he embraced us.
He was one of a kind and cannot be replaced.

His wife and sister-in-law are both members of DU. His SIL has been a friend of mine for years. I know their family is very sad and I wish them all my heart felt sympathies.

by so many and the world is a little dimmer now. I learned a lot from him, photography wise and world wise. Thanks for showing me Toronto through your lens, you made the ordinary extraordinary.

17. Shocking news

Jeff was one of my favorite photographers here, and the place got somewhat less interesting, IMHO, after he left. I followed him over at DFP, but only checked in occasionally, and had no idea about his illness until Nance posted the news there.
