Roadside attractions.....

Just for the fun of it. I was not able to get to this place prior to the contest, and had plans to be there this week. I didn't really get the photos I would have liked, but I hope you appreciate this traditional roadside attraction where people feed bread to the carp. The slogan for the Pymatuning Spillway is "where ducks walk on the fish".

And for a close-up view of one of the carp

a carp or a duck?

You can see that those fish are HUGE, but I don't think that they are good eating. Who knows though, since they are that big from eating bread. (I couldn't get a shot of them eating the bread since the bread disappears in seconds.)

... once they've been turned into tomatos. Just bury them under your plants.

We would go there when we were little, and my father would threaten to throw us in if we were not good. Needless to say, I had nightmares about falling in.

the photographs are marvelous, but I don't much like the looks of these guys and the illustration of the ducks walking on the fish.
And the second one reminds me of just why I don't much like Koi - it's a heck of a shot though!

Those mouths can suck in a whole slice in the blink of an eye. It is really gross to see, but fascinating. Anyone who is ever in the northwestern part of PA really should not miss this just for the gross-out value.
