Related: About this forumHarvest Festival, including the highlight of the year, THE PET PARADE. Lots of photos.
The Harvest Festival includes several levels of Fun Runs, food, stuff, activities and the Pet Parade. I did not attend the Fun Runs because, well can you say "early." The Pet Parade and Mexican food are more my speed.
This was my favorite group, the hot air balloon guys.
But, I also liked the gondola guys with the chicken. I'm not quite sure what the connection was, but it was cute.
There were cute kids galore, in and out of makeup.
This little fellow was completely enthralled by the Dixieland Jazz Band.
And, of course, pets, in and out of costume. There were kings, and super dogs (ready to take off) and just plain hounds.
There were bulldogs and boxers, and everything in between.
And there was stuff.
I don't think there were any kids under that wreath, but who knows?
Some interesting footwear for parade walking, too.
Activities for the kids. I really wanted to do the bungee bounce.
The police set up a bicycle course with obstacles, stop signs and rail road crossings, which took great concentration. Presumably to teach bicycle road safety. They might have done better to concentrated on the bike clubs with which we have been deluged all summer. These kids knew their stuff.

(20,886 posts)I can't imagine walking a parade route in those things. Not that I can imagine walking anywhere in them.
