it would have been a bit of a puzzle to figure it out.

Interesting to me that this caught your eye. Is it someplace that you pass by or see regularly?

It's a mall in suburban hell called The Mall at Lexington Green. It has a huge two story bookstore in the center under the large glassed roof and two wings to the side. At one time it was the second largest in America. The photo was around back and to the left of the mall. I go there a couple times a year. I usually buy used books, so I don't go there as much as I should.
