I think I'm more partial to the magnolia in color. I like the way it pulls focus to the center when everything else is black and white.

Wonderful. It gives me hope for spring to do its thing. We certainly have Magnolias in waiting.

I agree with mnhtnbb in preferring the colored version over the b&w. I think I might like the b&w more if the white values were boosted a bit.

Beautifully framed.

The tree house looks like fun. Is it for kids or adults?

I might go back and play with the B&W more. I think the composition doesn't really stand up to the B&W, here as it does in the color.

The tree house was built for the kid, but well, you know…. The foxes seem to use it most. We have to keep the drawbridge/ramp pulled up to keep them out. Foxes, for some reason known only to them, like to poop in high places.

Worked on many of them. Lots of money invested in those parts.

Before Google, I flew over in a small plane on a couple of occasions. Great fun to see all those hidden treasures. Now you can see them with
Google.

There is the pretty impressive stuff you can see from the roads.

Then there is the stuff tucked away back in the hills.

I worked on one place where the front door was $28,000, and the shower surround was $65,000. Both made by a glass artist in Texas.

It was amazing how much some people did have to spend, however.

I did a graining job on a country-escape place for some people from The City (but with roots in NYC, which is also where her designer/decorator was based). They paid $30,000+ to have a mural done on the ceiling of a dining room they were remodeling. She didn't really like the result. After flying their guy out from NYC, and having a discussion about it, they decided to paint the ceiling an off white. They found the mural "distracting."

I only know about this because we were doing a wood graining job on some beams in the same room as they were discussing it.
