You are really out on the wide open prairie, aren't you?
I have to shoot the moon through trees at my house!

(31,392 posts)It took quite a few shots to get the moon just at the tip of a tree branch--kind of like a bud.

(62 posts)After I saw the photo you took, I have a desire to take a photo about moon. But it's a pity that the photo which I take is not good. But when I see the moon, it reminds me of a poem about moon. I'm willing to share it with you:
IN THE QUIET NIGHT -- Li Bai
So bright a gleam on the foot of my bed --
Could there have been a frost already?
Lifting myself to look, I found that it was moonlight
Sinking back again, I thought suddenly of home.
Yes, in fact , I really thought of my home. And can you share when you see the moon, what are you thinking about?

Ah, the moon. For me, I can't help but think about my dad every time I see the moon. He was a serious amateur astronomer. Every
house we lived in when I was a child/teenager, he built an observatory--with a roof that rolled off-- to house his telescope in the backyard .
And I think about reading the children's book, Goodnight Moon, over and over and over again to my boys when they were little.
It makes me remember seeing the moon walk--on TV in the patient lounge--of the hospital where I was working at my first real full-time
job the summer after I graduated from high school.
The bedroom where I sleep now has a window that faces south. There are times when I awake, in the middle of the night, I can see the moon
from the window beside the bed. And I am home.

(62 posts)Of course, the moon has special meaning for me. Every time when I see the moon, it always reminds me of my family.
As a small girl, every summer my whole family used to sit down in the yard, I would look at the sky to see the moon from the circle to missing, form missing to circle. Especially when the moon is circle, it's a day of family reunion. We can eat for a dinner together, there is always sweetness.
I took photos about moon last time , I saw the full moon. I really wanted to have dinner with my family, I can't live together with them because of my busy work, I will always call them.

(130,974 posts)It was lovely, here, too, with the halo as well. I thought about grabbing a camera and going out to take some shots, but didn't. Glad you did!
