(20,886 posts)I was going after the look in the last photo, accidentally clicked on a different filter, and said, "Oh, that's cool."

I like - but now I have to look elsewhere, I don't do maudlin.

(22,380 posts)but so was every damn thing, emotionally, that got triggered. I reacted to that trigger.
The photos are wonderful, especially the one with the trees staggered in layers of dimensions. I have a painting I did years ago with a sun radiating a bit through such trees and fog, gave it to an old boyfriend, and I wish I had not.
I've been trying to get more emotion into photos, making them more art than photo. I fully understand the kind of reaction moody photos such as these can bring forth, and I'm sorry they pushed some unpleasant buttons for you.

(20,886 posts)I use On1 software, and they have some wonderful filters and presets.
I knew I wanted the bleached out, grainy, sepia tone look so I converted to a brown toned image, lightened it more, added film grain and a white vignette. I think I did a little blur, too.
The second image, which is the opposite from what I was going for, was obtained by a quirky finger that selected the wrong filter. The options on these filters are so many and so varied, I could probably come up with 300 or more variations of this image. It's daunting at times to play with them. I have found, in order to not get lost in the filters, I must have a pretty firm idea of the end result that I want before I start.
