Sunset at the beach

We are at the beach on Emerald Isle, NC, which is the southern most part of what is called the Crystal Coast in North Carolina.
Farther north, it's the Outer Banks.

So, looking at the ocean here, we are facing south. It's tough to get a good sunset photo on the beach here. Most of the time, the good color in the beach sky is at sunrise,
but even then, it needs to be fall or winter to get the sunrise over the ocean.

It was a very nice sunset tonight.

We had a house on the 4X4 beach north of Corolla.

but we have yet to try it.

The first time we were in NC--on a "should we move here" trip-- we went to Nags Head and I was thoroughly unimpressed. It felt like
Huntington Beach to me--years ago--in California and I wasn't a fan of Huntington Beach. That was 16 years ago. After trying Wrightsville
Beach, Bald Head Island, Topsail Island and Emerald Isle, we've been coming back now to Emerald Isle for quite a few years.

We may try Corolla one of these days.

I'm currently on a mission to not spend any more vacation dollars in NC--even though we live in Chapel Hill--as a means of boycotting HB 2.
I've already sent a Letter to the Editor of the NewsObserver in Raleigh about it, and I just answered an e-mail blast yesterday from
one of the rental agencies here in Emerald Isle telling them I won't be booking any more vacations in NC until HB 2 is either repealed or
declared unconstitutional by the courts. I'm waiting to tell the rental agency from whom we're renting this house until we leave since I don't want
to set myself up for no response to a call for service if we need it. And I know the owners of this house must be Republicans since we've had
two robo-calls from Trump on the house landline since we've been here!
