The hospital in Alpine, 100 miles away, can only do so much. If it's serious, they airlift you to Midland 250 miles away or 4 hours by car. My wife had an accident in Terlngua. Turned out she was ok, but you can find out real fast just how remote that place is.

Still, I told my wife if she goes first, I'm selling everything and moving there.

its as isolated as you can get without heading to the bush of alaska

i made sure i had extra water and food in my car
