Calling Postatomic to please give us a theme

Last edited Fri Nov 4, 2016, 08:58 PM - Edit history (1)

Today I think was the day you were going to be gone from.
While you are gone, let us ponder the theme....................

Thanks.
I for one am so nervous about the election, I need a diversion, and hope you will give it to me.

I look out my east-facing window to see whatever colors prevail, often interesting clouds. Today perfectly CLEAR all day, looks like.

Postatomic said he would be gone til November 12, and he seems to have left without leaving us a theme to go shoot for. If he really is gone til then, that makes it tough on us to keep the contest contained in November.
How about we ask Teamster 633, the second place winner, to determine the theme for us, taking postatomics suggestions as a base?

Opinions?

15. I'd also suggest some wording in the guidelines that make clear

about the start and stop dates of contests. I think in the long run we'd be better off with firm fixed dates for submissions/contest start etc............ just s suggestion to the group.

it's not easy to get anything changed about our procedures. Polls and inquiries get little response, and then nothing much changes. It has been frustrating to me when I tried to make some improvements.
The contests, often run by folks who have not done it before (which in my opinion keeps things from getting stale, and I like it), probably have to stay a bit fluid about the beginning and end. The reasons are IMO that there could be interruptions, personal schedules of the host, or the running of a seasonal contest in the same month and allowances are necessary.
Fixed dates would require oversight, and a person who monitors. We don't have that kind of person, it's impossible.

17. Maybe we should just declare the theme to be the #1 suggestion from postatomic--almost anything--

or photographer's choice.

It doesn't really take anything to post a submission thread in the group (only have to copy the rules from a previous contest submission thread) which could get things
going until postatomic returns/checks in to see whether running the preliminaries is possible at that time or a volunteer (teamster 633 maybe) would agree to run the prelims.

Any seconds?
That's how it's done - isn't it? If we get the second I'll get the ball rolling. Haven't done much of anything here lately, and in my other life I spent time at the polling places, but not again til Tuesday the day we will try to bury Trump under an avalanche of votes. He will slink away, and I can't wait.

19. OK, we need a second for the motion to declare the theme "Almost Anything" or photographer's choice
