Thinking about Solly Mack today

Today is the day her new ordeal begins to repair the damage in her face. It will be to repair and restructure and get rid of the constant pain. That's how I understand it.
Here's hoping all of us send light, prayers, thoughts of healing. Whatever it is we do, a collective combining of our good energies goes her way.
I'm looking forward to her return, all better.

7. Hello everyone! Oh, Mira! Thank you!

I love you!

I had to be up at 4 AM to make my appointment today. I live in the boonies and it's a few hours drive to reach civilization. I just woke up from the nap I took once I got back home.

I went through another round of tests and x-rays today. I had my bag with me and everything, prepared to be admitted, and today was a lot of imaging of my face and skull, as well some blood work.

The doctor gave me some stronger pain pills because the newer x-rays saw a greater shift in my jaw than the previous ones. And those were just last month. The new x-rays were the full 360 of my entire skull in 3 D.

On Monday I have to do another round of blood work and x-rays of my chest, and surgery will be a few days after that.

They plan to do it all at once, and will go through an old scar on my neck (dead center, vertical) from my original cancer surgery to fix my jaw. They now think my left side salivary gland has died and become a problem. So they'll be cutting tissue out from there as well. Everything removed will be biopsied.

I will lose all my teeth. There is no way to save any of them and repair my jaw. The radiation damaged some of them anyway, so it really is for the best.

So, for now, I'm pretty much where I was yesterday. In pain with more waiting - which I hate.

But what a wonderful thing to sign in and see this thread!!

I was really hoping to be checked in and through the first round by tonight. Oh, well.

Originally they wanted to do 3 surgeries. Now it's one longer surgery.

I want it over and done already.

I hate waiting.

Could be worse, I guess.

I'll keep everyone posted. Well, not immediately after the surgery. I hope to be blissfully unaware for a few hours after all that.

I had no idea as I haven't been around much since last spring.

I do hope all goes well for her. Thanks for bringing it up so that I could see it and know that she is dealing with such a thing.

I would post a nice picture but I haven't been to photobucket since they came back from an outage as I have moved and now can only afford limited (4G) internet access in my new place.
