(16,878 posts)Emerald Isle remains such a special place for our family. We went there regularly when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune.

(16,878 posts)Could be New River as well. Squadrons from both areas fly over there all the time.

(31,405 posts)Rain coming. No wonder the sky was reddish!
Plus, Snowy (my dog) and I are out around dawn most mornings. Today, though, I was snug in bed having coffee while watching Morning Joe when
I realized how red the sky was and had to hurry to get out before the color was gone!

(15,555 posts)I lived in NC for about 10 years and there are some things I really miss about it; these scenes at the coast being one of them. However, when I retired I debated going back and chose to stay in Michigan because of a new grandbaby. Don't miss their particular brand of politics and bible thumping, but do miss the geography of the place.

(31,405 posts)I have seen two awful bumper stickers since I've been living here. One was on the truck of the handyman who works for the owner of the place I'm renting.
That one: Proud Deplorable Voter for Trump. The other one I saw on a truck in the parking lot of the grocery store: I'd rather be a conservative
nutjob than a libtard without nuts or a job. I have to bite my tongue not to say something nasty to these--what a surprise--60ish white males.

(2,102 posts)Thank you for sharing them. #1 is my favorite. I like all the color, and also that you can still see a lot of the beach.
